College Grants for Single Mothers

We can help you find scholarships for single moms.  As for college grants for single mothers, some websites will claim that there are specially issued federal college grants for single mothers.  The case is that the same college grants that the federal government issues based on need are available for single moms, single dads, and childless high school graduates or holders of the General Equivalency Diploma.  On the state level, your place of residence may provide college grants for single mothers.  It is important to apply for the Pell Grant on the federal level before applying for any state-issued college grants.

To learn more, check out undergraduate grants, community college grants, Pell Grants, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Regarding college grants for single moms, it is also a good idea to investigate the page College Grants for Women.

State Agencies in Your Location of Residence Can Help Single Mothers Pay for College

To receive college grant money for single moms on the state level, remember that the federal forms must be filed first. Then the candidate is ready to submit an application for a college grant for single mothers as issued by one’s state of residence. For example the State of Arkansas has scholarships to help single parents.
Most states have some kind of support for single parents in the form of college grants to help them pay for an undergraduate degree. Here is a link to list individual state agencies.

The foundation’s Education Support Award is for levels of education from skills training, English as a Second Language certificate, General Equivalency Diploma, technical or vocational school, associate’s, first bachelor’s degree, and graduate and post-graduate studies. Based on economic need.
